Out of Hand

In a world full of unforeseeable circumstances and situations that are out of one's control, people try their best to be prepared and avoid situations that make them feel powerless.

In Out of Hand, the artist defies this natural tendency by forcing the viewer to stand in the midst of a near tragic scenario. This multi-sensory installation work surrounds the viewer and confronts him with his own feelings of helplessness and loss of control.

The use of multiple images of the same scenario in different angles induces the feeling of heightened senses one feels when tragedy is about to strike, while the sound effect of plates crashing has a psychological effect on the viewer as he realizes the inevitable is about to happen.

Exhibited in V Art Center (Shanghai, China). August 2015
